Scoring

Volleyball uses rally scoring: a point is scored on every rally regardless of which team served. The first four sets are played to 25 points; a fifth deciding set is played to 15 points. Every set must be won by a lead of at least two points — there is no ceiling, so a set continues until one team leads by two (e.g. 28–26, 33–31). Teams switch sides after each set. In the deciding fifth set, teams switch sides once the leading team reaches 8 points. A match is won by the team that wins three sets first (best-of-five).
